If you are interested in taking your athletic performance to the next level - whether that next level is beginning a training program for the first time, improving your personal best time, winning your age group, or turning professional - you came to the right place.

Joe Company, PhD founded ECo in 2010, but prior to this he coached at the high school and collegiate level, worked with Olympic training programs, and worked with a number of high-performance athletes, scientists, researchers, and coaches.  Joe began consulting endurance athletes in 2002, but as he evolved in his education and experience, he wanted to make his expertise available to more people.  ECo is the product of Joe's experience.

Endurance Company coaches and partners are carefully selected to provide quality coaching, teaching, information, and advice. All ECo coaches provide a valuable combination of education, practical experience, and knowledge in Joe's training philosophies.  Endurance Company coaches apply these key principles to provide unparalleled, customized training programs for all abilities of athletes.

Our mission is make your training and racing experience as rewarding as possible. The goal is to help you become a healthy, successful, complete athlete by providing a training plan that helps you reach your goals while maintaining balance in your life.

In addition to custom training plans, we offer laboratory bike and run VO2max and lactate testing as well as 'field testing' for bike power. These tests allow unparalleled optimization of your training plan.

It is time to take the guesswork out of your training!

KEY WORKOUT: Old Plank Hill Repeats

Old Plank Hill repeats are a staple workout I prescribe in to athletes in Columbia.  This workout helps improve bike strength and allows for higher power output, which ultimately translates to power on the flats.  For those of you who live in areas with mountains, realize that this is about as long of a climb as we have in Central Missouri…

Working Out or Training?

The picture to the left is of the Atlanta Olympic Stadium.  I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some time on the track in May of 1996.  I returned to this track in August to watch some amazing track and field performances including Michael Johnson run a then-world record of 19.32 and Dan O'Brien win the gold medal in the decathlon.

2013 ECo Season Summary

2013 was a very exciting year full of personal records, outstanding performance and gutsy efforts.  I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who is part of the ECo community.  This includes not only the athletes but the support group, which includes coaches, therapists, doctors, scientists, and sponsors. I continue to be impressed and inspired by the work ethic, the commitment, and the performances.

A special thank you to Valdora Cycles, Aquaman Wetsuits, Crank Sports (eGels), SRAM, Louis Garneau, and Brooks Running for supporting Endurance Company.

ECo athletes are part of a group of incredible athletes who have chosen to train wisely, work hard, and redefine their limits.  Endurance Company works with a small group of athletes in order to provide unparalleled individualized attention. The results speak for themselves.

For those of you who are part of Team ECo, you know where you fit in the lists below.   Thanks and great job!

Andrew Kirk's Ironman Arizona (and 2013 season) Report

I have been thinking about this write-up for the better part of three years –yes, really….  I had hoped to write about a glorious achievement of qualifying for Kona; a dream that I had considered when I first turned my attention onto triathlons in the winter of 2009.  But as time went on, I realized just how difficult it is to qualify.

Carrie Kimber's Ironman Arizona Race Report

I have to be honest, in my head, I have composed this race report a thousand times.  But when it comes to typing it out, it is very overwhelming. I returned from Arizona Monday night smiling, delighted, and overjoyed with my experience only to face another surgery in 4 days.  The final step of my multi-year ordeal was scheduled!
