Joe Company, PhD founded ECo in 2010, but prior to this he coached at the high school and collegiate level, worked with Olympic training programs, and worked with a number of high-performance athletes, scientists, researchers, and coaches.  Joe began consulting endurance athletes in 2002, but as he evolved in his education and experience, he wanted to make his expertise available to more people.  ECo is the product of Joe's experience.

In addition to custom training plans, we offer laboratory bike and run VO2max and lactate testing as well as 'field testing' for bike power. These tests allow unparalleled optimization of your training plan.

Michele Winter-First 1/2 Ironman!!!

Congratulations to Michele, who set out this season to not only overcome cancer treatment, but to also finish a 1/2 Ironman. She did it last weekend at the Boarder Wars 1/2 Ironman in Alton, IL. Great job Michele!!

3 Ironman Chattanooga finishers!

Great job to three ECo athletes at IM Chattanooga.

Joe Piper (EPIC Weekend finisher):
11:46:22 (1:11 swim, 5:45 bike, 4:34 run). This was 2 minutes off his IM Florida time, but given that this course was 3 miles longer, we could call this a PR!

Amanda Gerke:
14:02 (:53 swim, 6:28 bike, 6:23 run). This was a PR

Chris Smith: 15:25 (1:12 swim, 6:55 bike, 6:46 run). This was his first Ironman!!

ECo EPIC Endurance Weekend - 7 finisher!!

Congratulations to Joe Piper, David Quinn, Celeste Kudrys, Becky Franks, Casey Schnack, Carrie Kass, and Joe Company for completing the entire EPIC Challenge!  These seven athletes swam 10,000 meters, biked 195 miles, and ran 26.2 miles between 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning and 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.  Amazing job!

Aleta is overall winner at 5k!

Aleta ran 17:409 for 5k and 18:45 for 3.3 miles (total distance of the race) to win OVERALL (men included) to win the Bellinghan (WA) 5k.

Gwenna: 1st AG, 4th Overall!

Gwenna ran 25:26 in the hilly, high-altitude 5k in the Red Lodge 5k (Montana). 

Dana - 4th overall at IM Muskoka!

9:26:49! 1:01:12 swim, 5:03:38 bike, 3:13:20 run.   4th overall and 2nd in the 30-34 age group. Well done!

Dana 6th overall at Steelhead 70.3

Dana finished in 4:13:08 to place 2nd in the 30-34 age group (only 6 seconds from the win!) and 6th overall. Dana swam 33:41, biked 2:09:12, and ran 1:25:30.  Great race! (and he guided his wife to a 15-minute PR!)

 

 

Kelly at Tri Indy

Kelly took a break from  her Ironman training to race the Tri Indy Olympic distance race in Indianapolis, IN.  She swam 37 mins, biked 1:12 and ran 60 minutes to place 10th in the 30-34 age group.

ECo at Route 66 Tri

Michele Winter, Chris Smith, and Amanda Gerke participated in the Route 66 half-Ironman in Springfield, IL

Amanda took 2nd overall in the Athena division.

Chris placed 18th in the 35-39 division and MIchele placed 11th in the 40-44 division.
