Working along side expert physiologist Joe Company and expert nutritionist Cassie Dimmick, I supplement their work on your body with expert advice for ways to strengthen your mind. Together we form a team of experts that can treat the whole you.
Achieving peak performance requires more than just a fit well-conditioned body, but also a fit well-conditioned mind. Too many times we have seen an exceptional athlete not achieve because their head was not in the game or because self-doubt or negative self-talk crept into their thinking preventing them from executing at the moment of truth. Sustained high achievement requires not only a disciplined work ethic and eating habits, but also a discipline of mind which requires positive self-talk and an elimination, or at least significant reduction, of negative self talk. The mind can create self-imposed barriers and hindrances that prevent optimal performance. Self-doubt or the questioning of one's abilities at the moment of truth can cause our bodies to falter, even during tasks that one has mastered.
Although long-term therapy is recommended for certain issues, I believe in an efficiency approach, utilizing techniques that find short-term solutions so that therapeutic gains are immediately realized and rapidly built upon. I have created a program that is designed for the high functioning person interested not only in maximizing the functioning of their body or the functioning of their mind, but one that is interested in maximizing the mind-body connection thereby creating a symbiotic and harmonic relationship between both the body and the mind. I will help you reframe and retrain any negative faulty thinking, which will help you feel invigorated, strong and powerful. I will teach you the skills necessary to manage stress, and then through disciplined practice, repetition and dedication, help you successfully defeat your most difficult competition--you.
More about Linds:
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 25 years of experience. My theoretical approach to therapy and clinical intervention is that of a generalist. I believe in taking a holistic view of human behavior, focusing on a client’s physical health, system of beliefs, predominant cognitions and patterns of learning, early childhood experiences, interpersonal relationships and family dynamics. My research experiences have primarily focused on self-perceptions, particularly perceptions of self-efficacy, as they affect anxious ruminative thought and the ability to cognitively focus on tasks and execute certain behaviors. I also have an extensive background in the martial arts and have amassed many techniques that positively utilize the mind-body connection. I have advanced training in relaxation techniques, meditation, and biofeedback, and frequently use cognitive restructuring and other cognitive-behavioral techniques.
