Joe Company, PhD is an experienced coach and experienced athlete.  He applies sports science as well as his personal experiences as a coach and athlete to customize training programs for all abilities of athletes.  Joe's mission is make your training and racing experience as rewarding as possible. The goal is to help you become a healthy, successful, complete athlete by providing a training plan that helps you reach your goals while maintaining balance in your life.

In addition to custom training plans, Joe offer laboratory bike and run VO2max and lactate testing as well as 'field testing' for bike power. These tests allow unparalleled optimization of your training plan.

Basic Guidance

The BASIC GUIDANCE plan consists of a fully customized workout plan, updated monthly, detailing every workout you need to do.  The plan takes in to account the amount of time you want to spend training and other factors in your life.  I insist that my plans compliment your life, not detract from it.  Therefore each plan I write will be in your best interest - not only for athletic goals but also for overall health and well-being.

There is also the Group Package option.  If you and some friends are all training for the same events, all of you can receive BASIC GUIDANCE at a discount! 

Personal Training Session

What is it?  

Personal Training Sessions are face-to-face meetings where we focus on a particular aspect of your training.  Normally these consist of a swim clinic, a bike workout or position critique, run form/technique, weight session, nutrition counseling, etc. There is no formal structure for the personal training session.  If there is something you want focused help with, I'm willing to help.    

 

One Time Consultation

What is it?

This is a face-to-face meeting where we discuss your athletic history and goals for the future.  We then map out your year's training plan and/or tweak an existing plan to better fit your needs.  We can also discuss nutrition, stretching, core, strength plans, and anything else related to your training. This is a great option for a self-coached athlete who wants some guidance in planning their year, learning about periodization, and implementing strategies for constructing a training schedule.

 

Training Plans

Training Plans are for athletes who like working independently, but still want a quality, structured plan. Endurance Company offers a variety of training plans for specific race distances ranging from 5k to marathon, sprint triathlon to Ironman, 40k bike TT to multi-day bike trips.  All plans are written by Joe Company and are based off of successful training sessions used by himself and others.  Training Plans differ from Customized Guidance in that you receive the entire plan up front, rather than have the plan written monthly or weekly in response to your training.

Metabolic Testing

Big Tree Laboratory offers scientific testing that is administered and analyzed by Exercise Physiologists who are experts in health and performance.  Big Tree Laboratory is Endurance Company's human performance laboratory, but it is not your typical laboratory.  Big Tree Laboratory consists of both in-house strength and metabolic testing as well as field testing.  So, from the lab to the road, to the pool, to the track, Big Tree Laboratory's mission is to use physiological testing to maximize your training and racing potential.  In addition to Exercise Physiologist Joe Company, Endurance Company is proud to continue working with Exercise Physiologist Dr. Tom LaFontaine and Optimus: The Center For Health, where the in-house laboratory is located
