If you are interested in taking your athletic performance to the next level - whether that next level is beginning a training program for the first time, improving your personal best time, winning your age group, or turning professional - you came to the right place.

Joe Company, PhD founded ECo in 2010, but prior to this he coached at the high school and collegiate level, worked with Olympic training programs, and worked with a number of high-performance athletes, scientists, researchers, and coaches.  Joe began consulting endurance athletes in 2002, but as he evolved in his education and experience, he wanted to make his expertise available to more people.  ECo is the product of Joe's experience.

Endurance Company coaches and partners are carefully selected to provide quality coaching, teaching, information, and advice. All ECo coaches provide a valuable combination of education, practical experience, and knowledge in Joe's training philosophies.  Endurance Company coaches apply these key principles to provide unparalleled, customized training programs for all abilities of athletes.

Our mission is make your training and racing experience as rewarding as possible. The goal is to help you become a healthy, successful, complete athlete by providing a training plan that helps you reach your goals while maintaining balance in your life.

In addition to custom training plans, we offer laboratory bike and run VO2max and lactate testing as well as 'field testing' for bike power. These tests allow unparalleled optimization of your training plan.

It is time to take the guesswork out of your training!

Colleen Parsons

2011: 3rd place in the 5150 U.S. Championship division at HyVee

I began working with Joe in June 2011 after qualifying for the 5150 Championship. I knew I wanted to put forth my best effort in that race and being a working mom, I wanted help organizing my training as well as have a plan designed to maximize my abilities. I come from a very structured athletic background and have not had to come up with training plans on my own so having someone set up a personal plan for me was very appealing. After speaking with several friends that have used Joe’s coaching, I decided to give it a try.

Cynthia Gerdes

2011:  first-time 70.3 finisher

My goal for 2011 had been to complete a half-iron man. I decided I needed a little extra help with my training and my sister recommended Joe Company. It was the best decision I made. Originally, I was a runner and transitioned to triathlons. I put a lot of effort in my cycling, then my running suffered. I was struggling with shin splints.

David Quinn

David brings years of coaching experience to Endurance Company. Back in the mid 80's David instructed Martial Arts for a local school, and for 22 years moved into teaching Law Enforcement Officers with defense tactics.

Ebby Varghese

2012 & 2013.  I started with Endurance Company in August of 2012.  Prior to this I had completed a series of different race events from 5Ks to marathons without any significant commitment to performing well. After struggling through a few sprint triathlons and coming in 2nd to last in an international distance triathlon I sought out Joe's help.

Greg Campbell

2011: 5k, 10k, Olympic Triathlon, and 70.3 PRs!

What a difference a year makes!  Last year I was lucky to place in top twenty of my age group.  This year I won multiple medals, and at 51 years of age that is not too bad!  The difference?  Training with a plan, and not just any plan.  This year I used Endurance Company to train me and it made all the difference.

Jennifer Gravley

2011: 1/2 marathon

Joe wrote me a great (and flexible) training plan for my second half-marathon. He listened to what I wanted (I love running, but I'm never going to win any races) and started from where I was. I've had some one-on-one sessions as well, which were great--he gave me advice on working around some old injuries and on how to incorporate better nutrition during and after runs.

Jenny Clark

2011:  2nd AG and 25th overall at Branson 70.3, ITU World Championship qualifier

2012: ITU World Championship

2013: Ironman Florida finisher, PRs at IM, 70.3, marathon, and half marathon.

16 weeks from my goal race I hurt my knee at KS 70.3. I had surgery 4 weeks later and really couldn’t come up with a plan to be able to complete (meaning participate in) a hilly 120k bike and 30k run after 6 weeks off, in just 12 weeks. I was also leaving for a 3-week vacation. I decided I needed some serious coaching.

Karen Reider

I’ve never been much of an athlete . . . . I’ve always wanted to be, but never really had a clue of how to go about it.  So when I decided I really wanted to get serious about endurance training, I contacted Joe at Endurance Company.

Personally, I need to know the science behind what I’m doing.  And it continually amazes me how well my body adapts.  At an age when most people of my age group are starting to decline, I’m starting to see improvement.

Karen Roberts

2011:  1-hour PR at half Ironman, Half Marathon PR, Olympic Triathlon PR

After competing in several triathlons, both half ironman and Olympic distances, and following generic training plans, I decided to take my training to the next level. Joe helped design a training plan to fit my goals and around my race season. His training philosophy pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped boost my confidence and performance.

Keith Fernandez

2011: half-marathon PR, marathon PR, Boston qualifier

I rededicated myself to exercising about 3 years ago. While not overweight at this time I had let myself get out of shape and become soft. As my physical fitness improved I participated in various 5Ks, 10Ks, and a couple of sprint triathlons. But I needed a new challenge. I decided my goal would be to run a marathon.
