Angie Turner

2010: half and full marathon PR
2011: 1/2 marathon PR, marathon PR (2:45:01), Olympic Trials Qualifier

I ran track and cross-county during high school and college, but I walked away when the pressure of winning became too stressful. Running wasn’t fun anymore. Twenty years later, I was nearing 40 and decided to start working out again. With motivation from a local multi-sport group, my love of running returned, and I developed a new interest: triathlon. I found running and triathlon training plans online and competed to the best of my ability.

Angie Turner named as one of the top masters road racers in the U.S.

Running Times magazine recognized Angie Turner as one of the top women road racers in the United States in the 40-44 age group.  This honor caps off a tremendous year for Angie.  Some of the highlights include winning the St. Louis Marathon in April, winning Roots n Blues 1/2 marathon in September (beating all of the males too!), and running at the U.S. Olympic Trials in January 2012.

Congratulations Angie!  You are one of the elite road racers in America.  We are proud you are a part of Endurance Company.

Angie Turner qualifies for the Olympic Trials Marathon!

Angie Turner travelled to Columbus, Ohio and toed the starting line exactly one week after a disappointing DNF at the Chicago Marathon.  Angie split 38:14 at 10k and 1:21:32 at the half-marathon in route to a 2:45:01 finish.  This time qualifies her for the U.S. Olympic Trials this January in Houston, Texas.

Angie Turner is the overall winner at the 2011 Roots n Blues 1/2 marathon.

Four ECo athletes competed to day in the Roots n Blues road races in Columbia, Missouri.  Angie Turner and Alberto Diaz-Arias, PR'd in the 1/2 marathon, while Greg Campbell and Chrissie McKinney PRd in the 10k.

Angie Turner posted a 1:20:12 and took the OVERALL win (males included).  She lead from start to finish, looking relaxed and strong the whole way.  This is a great result given that she recently missed 10 days of running due to a calf strain.

Angie Turner wins Tinman Triathlon!

Angie Turner crushed the women's field and all but 5 men in route to a commanding victory at the Tinman Triathlon in Topeka, Kansas.  Angie posted the 7th fastest women's swim, the 4th fastest women's bike, and the fastest women's run (5th best overall run including men).  Congratulations also go to Mike Davis, who won the men's 30-34 age group nad placed 15th overall and Paula Rawlings who placed 7th in the women's 45-49 age group.

Great day for ECo athletes at TriZoo

The TriZoo sprint triathlon attracted over 600 athletes this year and boasted a solid elite field. Despite a mechanical issue on the bike, Jackie Pearce took 2nd overall in the Elite division of the TriZoo sprint triathlon and continues to show excellent early-season form.  Angie Turner finished 5th and is beginning to find her triathlon legs after spending the winter focusing on marathon training.  On the men’s side, Joe Company took 3rd in the Elite division.  In the age-group competition, Mike Davis placed 5th in the 35-39 age group.
