Endurance Company, or ECo, was founded in 2010 by Joe Company, PhD. Before founding ECo, Joe had been working with a number of endurance athletes, but wanted to make his expertise available to more people. ECo is the product of Joe's experience.
ECo's inaugural year was extremely successful with numerous athletes exceeding their expectations and performing better than they imagined they could. ECo worked with a number of athletes who were new to endurance sport, and many competed their first long-distance event (1/2 marathons, full marathons, 1/2 Ironmans, and Ironmans). ECo also works with veteran athletes, and many of these athletes reached USA Triathlon All-American, Honorable Mention status, and road-running honors. Two highlights from 2011 included: Angie Turner's performance at the Columbus marathon, which qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and Jackie Pearce's inaugural Ironman performance where she placed 8th overall female at Ironman Canada, qualified for Ironman World Championships in Kona, and qualified for her professional card.
Currently, ECo works with a wide variety of people, from elite endurance athletes to folks looking to lose weight and improve their quality of life. In addition to performance coaching, ECo offers nutrition services for health and performance as well as sports psychology services. The ECo athlete has access to comprehensive training: body, mind, spirit. As ECo continues to grow, so will the website database, exercise information, and training options.
